The home of Abbot Kinney, with its vivid red dome, is visible in this period postcard.
Also see "Asleep On The Billiards Table" under my "Los Angeles" heading, left.
The house was on a canal bridge at the intersection of Alderbaren and Cabrillo Canals. I currently live a few doors down from the domed house, on the other side of Cabrillo Avenue.
Abbot Kinney's house was one of the first built along the canals in the Venice of America tract in 1906. Our house was also built in 1906. I can see Kinney's dome from our bedroom window.
