"17 year old Bianca Passarge of Hamburg dresses up as a cat, complete with furry tail and dances on wine bottles, June 1958. Her performance was based on a dream and she practiced for eight hours every day in order to perfect her dance."

That is just too wonderful for words. I shall save that picture as a screen saver. Bless that woman's determined heart.
It reminds me of the 27 hours of rehearsal I put into a 3 minute piece of mime. I was not a street mime, though as Marceau himself has pointed out, street miming is better than mugging people. I had a French master who worked with the master himself. My cat mime was excellent, he told me once. I was told I was the best female mime in Sydney, but that is of no consequence to anyone. For most people, particularly in this desert country do not know the nuances of that art or of it's delicate, passionate relationship to dance.
Oui, merci. I love you for this photograph.
