I haven't finished this whole article below yet, but it reminds me of the global apocalypse dreams I had early in my psychoanalysis just before I was ready to uncover some banal emotional observation that had no bearing on anyone except my measly self. (Assuming that any unpleasant emotional discovery is actually banal--people have actually killed people rather than face their dopey Oedipal longings.)
I'd rather see an article interpreting how vastly neurotic and immature this Apocalypse imagery is. You're going to die, Boomers, and then Gen Xers like Wit are going to die after you, and there won't be much to either existential event at all.
Baby Boomers have "baby' in their name after all, and man, are many of them creepy infantile narcissists.
Wit can assure her younger audience that her tiny generation will skip the ludcirous terror and embarassing New Age fanfare and let you be young and happy in peace!
“Apocalypse literally means uncovering or revealing,” Pinchbeck went on, “and I think the process is already under way. We’re on the verge of transitioning to a dispensation of consciousness that’s more intuitive, mystical and shamanic.”
